Hi guys!
     I'm looking for a little help, hoping that you can help me out. I'm a volunteer firefighter in Rutherford. I work as a CPA in Springfield. On the weekends I maintain the Gamewell system in Little Falls. My interest in the fire department was spurred from the Gamewell system in Rutherford. I'll spare the details for another post.
     I have created a website about the telegraph fire alarm box systems. The site is http://www.backtaps.com. I know a lot of towns in Union County had the system. I know Roselle Park just removed theirs. Elizabeth and Linden as well. Rahway is removing the street boxes but keeping master boxes. Cranford & Westfield removed theirs a long while back. Summit's long gone. That said, I am trying to get information about the systems. I'm looking to get the history of the system and the most recent alarm box list before they were removed from service. I'd like to talk to someone who knows the system...prefereably the fire alarm techs who worked on the system. However, if anyone knows about a particular town's system, I'm all ears.
     Since the theme of Those Guys Fire Company includes tradition, I am hopeful that the members can help me out with the keeping alive the Gamewells.... a forgotten piece of the FD's history and tradition. Thanks in advance! By the way, feel free to let me know what you think about the site.

Attention all TGFC members, October is approaching and we are looking to throw one of our TGFC Bashs!!!!!! All members are REQUIRED to attend the meeting on September 5th, 2008 @ 1930 hrs at Roselle Park Station # 3. We will be discussing the EVENT(Name, Place, Time). Garden State Parkway to exit 137. Make a left a light. Goto 2nd Traffic Light(Faitoute Ave) make a Left. Go 4 blocks make a right once you pass the school(W. Lincoln ave.) Large Scale Home Land Security Drill: HESS Refinery: Port Reading NJ

On September 24, 2008, A large scale drill will be held at the Hess Refinery in Port Reading, New Jersey. "Those Guys Fire Company" has been contacted to act as victims to be deconned at this drill along with any other members who are on a fire department. If you are interested in participating as victims in this event please contact events@thoseguysfireco.com. They are looking for approximately 25 people. Please contact us ASAP if you are interest & able to attend. The Deadline to sign up is Aug 15, 2008.
